-Tom Waits. On Tom Waits: "He's created such an art at what he does. He doesn't even have to try anymore. He just goes up there and says something. I saw him recently and he doesn't even have to say something funny, it just sounds funny or it just makes sense. Everything he does has a tinge of humor and tragedy at the same time. You can tell he's been through so much in his life."

-Tom Waits at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles in 1999

First concert you ever saw?
-Rush at the Los Angeles Forum when I was 13 years old

Performance that stands out for you?
-Madison Square Garden, May 2000. That's the place to play. The whole day there was this whole energy of "We're playing Madison Square Garden." Every great artist that has played in an arena has played there. It's a huge place and there's something [section missing]

Moment in studio that stands out for you?
-I was tracking guitars and letting Billy tell me what to do. He was being the producer and I was being the guitar player. I was thinking I was getting a take to pick from and he ended up using all of them. The two songs that I play on, there's like 8
